Review on Pedros 138900 Bicycle Cable Puller by Antonio Urbina

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pedros is close by if you need an extra hand!

Today I got the Pedros bike cable puller just in time because I adjusted my road bike. Delivery was slow but within seller's arrival parameters. The tool doesn't look very impressive and doesn't feel all that solid. Lubrication was visible at all pivot points. However, I also added this work by fitting and adjusting road bike brakes and front and rear derailleurs. For those who may not be familiar, this tool holds the brake or shifter cable in a rough adjustment, leaving your hands free to tighten the anchor bolt. This simplifies what can be frustrating. Overall this tool is reasonably priced, does the job it was designed for and I would recommend it to anyone looking to work on their bike or other people's bikes. Update 3/30/15: Yesterday I used a Pedros cable puller when trying to adjust a derailleur on a mountain bike. The force exerted on this particular assembly is quite high, and what happened was that the cable puller crushed the switch cable. I may have been a bit careless when tightening the cable, but I'm saying this to warn other shade tree mechanics like myself that this can happen.
