They're not expensive so I didn't expect them to be of really high quality. The metal is on the thinner side and they're small in diameter so they won't hold anything with a lot of weight. That's what I expected. I have no problem with that. What I can't help but notice is the fact that the tension is of such poor quality. Don't hold on ". They often bounce when installed and took several attempts to get them to the correct length with enough tension to stay upright. The tension itself is also very weak. That and fact aside that the ends are a little more plastic and less rubbery than they should be (so the grip isn't great) they just don't hold up.I use most of these at an angle between the stairs to keep cats out of the living room. They're really great for this as they don't hold anything and are more vertical than horizontal so gravity does half the work.
