Review on Bell Super Adult Helmet Matte by Bomba Ton

This is my first mountain bike helmet. I looked at some YouTube reviews and bought the small size. I have been riding motorcycles for over 20 years and have had many helmets. I noticed significant differences between them. When I opened the manufacturer's box, the first thing I noticed was that the helmet was half upside down with minimal packaging. It was obvious that someone had repacked the box beforehand. Second, the chin strap was oddly placed and the cheek pads blocked it. I moved them so that they sit flush with the pads. I also noticed that the plastic strap behind the dial wasn't connected. There are two tabs on either side of the adjustment knob that snap together. So I connected them together. The connection looks thin and weak. I doubt it will last. Finally I tried the helmet on. I'm on the border between small and medium. I'm at the max end of small and beginning of medium. The little ones are too tight on my cheeks. Compared to motorcycle helmets, this helmet looks very different. First, it's very easy. I've had the best carbon fiber motorcycle helmets and they don't even come close in weight. Second, the helmet shell transmits most of the impact through the helmet. I can clearly feel the impact in the helmet. I'm not sure if this is normal, but motorcycle helmets seem to offer a lot more cushioning. Since it was a more expensive helmet, I expected a lot more. I'm not sure if my expectations were biased based on my previous helmet experiences or if this helmet was inferior. I am returning this helmet and will do further research before ordering a replacement. I don't think going up a size will change many of my concerns, so I'll probably choose a different brand. Based on the price and quality, I cannot recommend this helmet.
