I own many Work Sharp products, including the Controlled Field Sharpener, which is probably its closest relative. I bought this thinking that something more compact might be an improvement. nope The diamond sharpener is too coarse. If you try to sharpen your knife on diamond steel and then use it on ceramic, you'll just gnaw through the ceramic shank. Admittedly, you should very rarely sharpen your knife and instead simply sharpen it on a ceramic rod. Which brings me to my next complaint. The ceramic rod cannot be rotated and therefore wears out quickly.
