Definitely easy to install and the padding is good enough to support the weight of two kayaks stacked on the tailgate without folding. The extra strap (to hold the kayak/board in place) is nice, but I wouldn't count on it holding anything in the back of your truck. I only use this strap to keep the kayaks from slipping off the pad. To be honest it holds up very well for its price and I would buy it again. My only complaint is that the plastic buckles used are very cheap and will deform if you over tighten the straps. This will probably be the first thing to break, or the first thing I have to try and figure out how to replace.
