My primary concern is the safety of my dog. Unfortunately, in September 2019, Whistle made a technical update that caused a 5-7 minute response delay from the moment the device exited the safe zone and returned. A delay of 5-7 minutes can mean half a mile or more if your dog is on the run. I've communicated with tech support 3 times since I bought my device in August 2019 and they just replied "We made the product TOO GOOD and the tech fix has no timeline for that." It's been 5 months since I had the product and 4 of those months had this delay. Additionally, device malfunctions occur regularly as Whistle tests new technical fixes. In the last 4 months I have had to walk away from lunch, meetings and work at least 10 times because the device warned me that my dog had left its safe place, only to find that it hadn't. At first I thought it might be an internet problem. So I bought a dog camera that works without internet. Every time the whistle blew, I jumped into the dog cam and found that there wasn't actually a problem with the internet and my dog was alive and well. Last time I contacted support about this issue, I asked for a refund (only) for the annual subscription and they replied "We don't refund money, but we can offer you a free month of service." Why do I need a month free maintenance for a product that doesn't work? In general, don't waste your money until Whistle guarantees that the devices are working properly and there are no constant outages and lags.
