Finally tried some clone tips after realizing my 888 Haako tips didn't have enough thermal mass to work on a board. I only tried them because they looked like a good choice and being new to very detailed board level repairs I really wasn't sure which advice would work best for me. I can wholeheartedly recommend them, although I'm not making the one mistake I made when I forgot to tin the tip of a new tip before I started. You can see where I stopped with some tinkering after the fact.
