I think this would be better for decoration or display than a real chopping board. It doesn't seem to hold up very well to normal washing, it does have some sort of "espresso stain" on it, but it's not clear if that stain is food safe. good cutting boards are usually not "tarnished". They have a very rustic and even shabby appearance, with intentional damage and imperfections not visible in the main product image on this site. I would only use it as a decoration and not as a cutting board as advertised.
