Review on πŸ”Œ A-Premium Power Window Regulator for BMW E46 323i 325i 325xi 328i 330i 330xi Rear Right Passenger Side - Motor Not Included by Matthew Sytniak

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Installed in 4dr 2001 330i.

Good price. Looks almost identical to the one supplied which costs about $60 more and has a lifetime warranty. I've already used it once (guaranteed another), this is the second time it's failed in a year. It's possible to use the guarantee again to stock up, but I bought this one because of the faster shipping. One of the biggest issues I've read about it in reviews is that the screw lugs aren't aligned. It was the same with mine as with every other I've ever bought, no matter what the price. No larger holes need to be drilled or screws left dismantled. The tabs are relatively flexible, you just mount the motor, see how wide the holes are, and then bend it with pliers. As for the regulator itself, regardless of the price, they all have the same weak points. Either the clips holding the slider to the cable break, or the cable detaches from one of the plastic rollers. You can use a zip tie to make it easier to break the clips, but not to solve the pulley problem. This is where most of the ones I've replaced have failed. I have read many posts on how to keep these things from breaking. Some advise cleaning and lubricating window openings, others say not to lubricate window openings. I tried not to use the window for several months only to have it break after the first use. I read one where the guys suggested not to use it which could be a problem because after a long time the glass sticks to the rubber track and breaks the next time you use it. This time I'll try to keep the rails clean but not oily, and "train" the window every few days to keep it from sticking.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
