Works - instructions are terrible

I got this for my 2016 Honda Odyssey Touring. I can't believe a car in this price range doesn't already come with these hood struts. I don't go under the hood often, but when I do it will be nice. The product itself is decent. The instructions link to a youtube video by Mighty Car Mods where they install it on a Honda S2000. There are no real instructions on how to install it on the Odyssey. I hope my photos help anyone who buys this. My biggest concern is that the driver's side attachment point simply screws into the sheet metal where the hood release cable clip was. I wish it came with a manhole nut, although I had to ream that hole to make it work. Maybe I'll finish it. I assume I installed it the way it should work. This raises the hood slightly more than the factory position of the hood brace. More precisely, in the next hole closer to the hood windshield, which is not marked. I noticed that the hood is slightly raised where the struts attach to it. I don't think anyone but me will notice this and I'm hoping it will wear off a bit once spacers start using it.

Pros
  • Guaranteed fit. Does not work with carbon fiber hood. Designed and made in Taiwan
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
