Review on Unleash Your Off-Road Potential with the SHIMANO PD-M8120 Trail and Enduro SPD Pedal by James Hardy

Probably the easiest clipless setup for new riders

These are probably the easiest clipless pedals to use. The entire Shimano SPD line is great! However, I strongly recommend using them with polygonal output tips. Especially if you are new to clipless pedaling and have a full carbon frame! I crashed too hard on my bike and the rear swingarm got a notch. Thankfully, SantaCruz offered a replacement after the accident, but it still cost me $750. Extra weight on the bike in a fall = useless. So make sure they are set up in a way that your feet can easily come out. I'd rather accidentally lose my feet than be left behind in an accident. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is that the back of one of the spike attachments broke off for some reason after only a few weeks of use. Maybe he relaxed a bit and I didn't notice? So just check all the pedal bolts for the first few months after riding.
