Some slip is best in building materials
I put them under my sofa legs to protect the vinyl plank floor. As other people have mentioned, furniture legs tend to slip out of cups. As long as you don't move the furniture too often, it should work just fine. Unfortunately, I often move the sofa to clean it. I bought 2.5 inch squares because of the shape of the sofa legs. As it turned out, the legs had little metal caps, so I could have gone for a much smaller square that could stay in place better. 3 stars because furniture legs often fall off.
