This filter jug serves its purpose. But the huge size also has its disadvantages: 1) it just takes up too much space, why need an oversized water filter, unfiltered water gets deposited everywhere. According to Brita, this is expected behavior but doesn't look very appetizing. 4) I don't like the new traffic light display. I like the old bar graph better. 5) After a few weeks (before you need to replace the filter) the filter starts to smell strange. There is nothing wrong with the actual filtering ability, it works perfectly even after a few weeks. I regularly check the water with a tester. If I had to buy another one, I would choose the smaller Mavea (also a Brita brand). I used to have one like the Mavea in Europe and it didn't have any of the above issues.
