Overall good, but I expected more, there are disadvantages.

To begin, let me state that the only reason I use a computer is for gaming, and that performing various computations does not in any way pique my interest. I made the decision not too long ago to entirely replace the 4790k operating system with a brand new one. I used memory operating at 3600 MHz, a motherboard with an Aorus Pro 390, and an overclockable variant of processor. Only in Assassins did I observe an improvement in performance, and it turned out that the problem was with a penny. The Intel Core i7-4790k performed admirably in all of the other tasks that were given to it. I won't say that I'm sorry I decided to update the system unit, but even after doing so, I was hoping for something more substantial than a couple of extra frames per second in a few of my games.

Pros
  • - Consistent performance across all 12 threads and 6 cores - Capable of high overclocking speeds - Installation and configuration went off without a hitch
Cons
  • - Virtually no common sense in the way the power is used for games. - Expensive cost
