Bought this to work on my 2010 HHR. I have a 1 1/4 hitch so I bought a 1 1/4 to 2 inch adapter but it went well past my bumper. Make a bracket with 1 1/4 square tubing. Unscrew the light from the bracket, pry the plastic in to get the wire out so I don't cut the bracket right in front of the plastic inside the tube behind the light (you don't have to cut the plastic, I did this works by simply drilling a hole from top to bottom and adding a 1/4" screw, or you can drill a hole the same size as the hitch pin through 1 1/4 square pipe and insert washers into the bracket to fill a space of 1 1/4" to 2".) Then drill a hole for the bolt and screw it to the square tube, then reinsert it into the hitch and mark the hole for the pin. Drilled out and put back in the hitch, hooked up the light and it works great. Now it doesn't bother behind the bumper anymore. The light only works with the brake pedal, the left and right turn signals are dead didn't turn on the light, so they must have solved some customers' problem.
