Review on 📀 Enhanced Panasonic DMR-ES15S DVD Recorder with Progressive Scan by Daniel Espinoza

I bought this recorder as I am planning to replace my current DVR with a new HD DVR. I wanted to archive some of the content that I had yet to watch or that I just wanted to keep, and for that purpose it was great. I have created many archives and the overall interface created for these archives is great. The DVD-RAM disc that came with the unit allowed me to experiment and learn without wasting a bunch of DVD-R discs and I could easily compare/match recording quality settings. Unfortunately this product and maybe all products of this type have some issues that disappoint me. In order to record from my DVR, this device had to be placed between the DVR and the TV. As with the VCR, there is no pass-through feature that would allow me to view the DVR with the recorder off. I'll admit this is also a limitation of my DVR as I don't have multiple outputs, but I don't expect many to have them. Which brings me to my second problem: every time the device turns on, it tries to play whatever is in the taskbar. I didn't find an option to disable this.
