Excellent DVD Recorder with Playback

This is a great DVD burner! It has multiple media options including DVD-Ram with 5 picture quality modes. If you're using a DVD-Ram, it may start recording and then let you go back and watch the recording from the beginning while the rest of the program is still being recorded. Like Tivo. Great for when you get interrupted and want to go back and see what you missed while the program is still recording. Editing features, one-touch capture, scheduled capture, all with superb image quality. Thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Slim progressive scan DVD player/recorder; Dimensions 16.9 x 2.3 x 9.8 inches
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Great recorder, some annoying "features "

I bought this recorder as I am planning to replace my current DVR with a new HD DVR. I wanted to archive some of the content that I had yet to watch or that I just wanted to keep, and for that purpose it was great. I have created many archives and the overall interface created for these archives is great. The DVD-RAM disc that came with the unit allowed me to experiment and learn without wasting a bunch of DVD-R discs and I could easily compare/match recording quality settings. Unfortunatelyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Only records to DVD-RAM in 16:9 format. All other media is limited to 4:3 aspect ratio.
Cons
  • Expensive

Great tool for storing old pre-recorded video cassettes

I use a DVD recorder for example one month. I no longer have to worry about my family films (on 8mm and VCR) disappearing from the tape. I started recording the first day, when I set it up there were no problems. I managed to record from my old camcorder, VCR and even my DVR with cable box with little to no guidance. Since I have a DVR cable box, I don't have to worry about scheduling recordings. I just record them straight from the DVR box. The best thing about this device is the flexibleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Connections: Composite (2 in, 1 out), S-Video (2 in, 1 out), Component (1 out), RF (1 in)
Cons
  • Small things

Very important! on DVD players and recorders

I recently purchased this player through Revain but from a source that offered a lower price (cabo-wabo, $139). It took two calls to Panasonic to hook up the unit to my Direct TV receiver and TV. I'm not very good with these diagrams, and the first tech I spoke to obviously wasn't either. Navigating the three remotes (Sony TV, Direct TV and Panasonic's DVD recorder) is awkward at first and still awkward once you've gotten the sequence. I guess there's no getting around that since the inputs are

Pros
  • FireWire port for direct dubbing to camcorder
Cons
  • Operating speed

Explanation of recording

I am very happy with this voice recorder I bought for $120 with free shipping and no tax. But I found a lot of confusion about its features and capabilities while researching this purchase, so let me clarify a few points. If you use DVD-RAM discs, this recorder can do practically anything you want. do with DVD! You can split titles, set your own chapter breaks, delete chapters of your choice (like commercials), choose the frame you want to present for each chapter in the menu, edit titles, edit

Pros
  • Recording on DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW and DVD-RAM; Plays Dual Layer DVD-R/+R and CD-R/RW.
Cons
  • Negative
