Cheap Inexpensive Repair

I purchased these polyurethane bushings to replace a rotten, falling and sagging rubber bushing on my 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Classic. On my truck, every cab mount grommet was bad, and this inexpensive polyurethane kit was the cheap fix it needed. The hardest part was trying to get the old rubber bushings out of the old steel inserts that you would have to reuse for these polyurethane bushings. You also have to reuse old screws or go to the hardware store to buy new ones. Rust is the hardest thing about these trucks, the rest is pretty easy to replace. Some people say those polyurethane bushings squeak and ride hard. First you need to LUBRICATE them before installation. I used an old ball bearing base grease and it worked fine, the grease also helps with assembly and doesn't squeak. As for the ride being "harder," I haven't noticed much of a difference since they were on the truck. The truck used to run rough with the old rubber bushings and still runs with the new polyurethane bushings, it's also a 4x4 truck so it's not really designed to give the best ride quality anyway, it's designed for commercial and professional use . The only criticism of these new polyurethane bushings is that they don't come with new bolts or steel inserts, which would make replacing them VERY easy. But for the price under 100€ I can't complain. He fixed the main problems the truck had. The driver's cab no longer sags, the doors open and close properly, the gaps are correct, and the truck fits a little better than before and looks better.
