Review on XCSOURCE Mountain Crankset Aluminum CS400 by Chris Doe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great connecting rod, beautiful look, unbeatable price.

-Update 2 - The bottom bracket finally started humming so after 1.5 years and over 400 miles I switched to a Shimano m8000 bb. The grips worked great and I was back to work in less than an hour. It amazes me what is available at reasonable prices these days. For less than half what my friends say I had to spend to ride well, I put a new, nice, seemingly functional bottom bracket and crank into service. It weighs about the same as my riding friends bikes and the single or dual linkage option is good, although I use it as one (with a lighter bike, 8 speed 11-34 in the rear cassette, a 34 tooth -Ring up front and a few steep climbs here, I don't really need more gears). Installation was easy and looks good. My only concern is the BB seal as it's entirely possible that dirt/mud/sand could get in, something I'll likely encounter on the trails here in Michigan. I will update if it fails or wears out prematurely. However, I plan to break out of them this year and see what happens. In the worst case, I swap the bottom bracket and leave the cranks. - Update - I'm buying a second one for my spare wheel and keeping this set on my main wheel. It's been a little less than a month, but I'm still very impressed.
