The tire thread measured looks correct when tested with another thread depth gauge, but the product diminishes its value because its body is poorly designed. Being cheap plastic, it has 2 removable covers, one for the battery, the other which also removes some traces of the circuit board, but the user doc doesn't even mention what it's for, but an arrow at the top shows that it can be removed. one for the battery and then it fails. The edge of the tool that pierces the top of the tire is flat and straight, it would be better if it was slightly contoured to match the shape of the top of the tire. since the measurement when the tire is mounted on the vehicle will limit the angle of the tool
