Wears out FAST leaving a rough edge good for shaping

I bought this sharpening stone to keep the scythe blade clean when I'm hand cutting tall grass. Now I fully understand why it is offered in packs of 9 and so on. This stone wears out quicker than any stone I've had over the years. After just two days of use. maybe 25 minutes of grinding total, this stone is visibly worn and I don't see it lasting the rest of the summer. I dip it in water and use it to finish my old 30 inch scythe blade (rough edges). then I have to touch up with another fine stone. This stone is not suitable if you want to give each cutting tool a clean finishing edge. I would say it is suitable for removing a lot of material and correcting small nicks and very dull. Then set up a real edge with another stone that is better suited for this. I can't say I recommend this sharpening stone as it is very soft and wears out quickly. Keep looking for a more durable and harder stone.
