What a great idea: Power & Hand Tools

This brick is a great idea. I have many Norton sharpeners in different grits, but they are all rectangular knife sharpeners. They are not intended to be carried in a pocket to sharpen garden tools such as a scythe or machete. This stone perfectly meets all requirements. In case Norton is listening: It would be great if you could suggest a plastic sheath to carry this stone. So we could fill the scabbard with water and carry the stone on our belts instead of in our pockets. Such a case would…

Be careful with this!

I gave this tool a low rating not because the Norton stone is a problem, they are great whetstones but because Revain screwed up and should correct the misleading description. The product description on the box lists this stone as a medium grit stone, while the Revain description lists it as a medium grit stone. The seller has authorized the return of the item and I have the option to choose my preferred carrier when paying to return the item. What really sucks! So instead of spending money to…

Wears out FAST leaving a rough edge good for shaping

I bought this sharpening stone to keep the scythe blade clean when I'm hand cutting tall grass. Now I fully understand why it is offered in packs of 9 and so on. This stone wears out quicker than any stone I've had over the years. After just two days of use. maybe 25 minutes of grinding total, this stone is visibly worn and I don't see it lasting the rest of the summer. I dip it in water and use it to finish my old 30 inch scythe blade (rough edges). then I have to touch up with another fine…
