I really should have known better but I still bought what looked like good value for money because it had so many good reviews. Initially they were incredibly stiff straight out of the box and even after oiling them I'm not happy with the feel of opening and closing. People who call them sharp have probably never used quality fabric or embroidery scissors before. Longer scissors will cut through some of the fabrics I've tested them on, but require little force for layered or thicker fabrics. Very sharp fabric scissors will cut normal fabric as easily as a knife through warm oil. They seem as sharp as the scissors I use for paper. I'm actually a little mad at the smallest pair of what they call embroidery scissors. They are too big, too thick, not sharp enough and not agile enough to do what embroidery scissors are used for. They feel like they are trying to use sharpened children's scissors. Even my cheapest spare embroidery scissors and small travel scissors are better than these! I'll probably use two large pairs around the house, but I think the smallest ones will end up in the bin.
