All charged and ready to go. I love the Maglite and the extra battery makes it even better. It took 24 hours to charge initially, but then it charges in just a few hours. Holds a good solid beam of light and is bright enough. I hope to glean many good accusations from this. I think Maglite is the way to go. I have always been very satisfied with their products. They may cost a little more, but I always get excellent service from them for years. Only once did my light mage die, and that was due to leaking cheap batteries. From now on it's batteries like this one for me. volume
