Pretty easy fix just be patient

So I had an annoying code U1411 and after researching people said the fault is in this part. It was cheap so it couldn't hurt. I figured that was the problem because every now and then I would pocket my key and the only thing that would come up was the PRND ads. No radio, no other gauges on the dash except for the dying CEL. The instructions below are for a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L (most likely same year models. So take a flat head and gently pry off the plastic cover. Then take a T-20 Torx and unscrew the 2 screws underneath the Ignition socket to your key. After that push the key slot back. Then pull out the pad under the steering wheel. You may have to be tight because it holds up very well. There should be a small edge to grab then pull the Wrench assembly down towards you (be patient it will be a bit tricky) Then take a T-10 tab forward onto the electrical connector, press on the tab and slide it into the center of the part and Don't put pressure on it, if you break it you may break the plastic rod inside that turns you car from ACC to start. So be patient!Once you do feel you have a good grip on the ledges, gently twist and it should come out. Next, make sure the groove your machine turns is facing the same direction. If it doesn't, just take a flathead screwdriver and gently twist it in the right direction. When that's done, put it back in place and listen for the latches. Then add this T-10? I think it's a screw to hold the part in place. Then put it back in the hole you removed it from. Do the plug last as it interferes with the reinstall and becomes a problem. Then, after inserting them into the slots, reinstall the Torx T-20 screws. Connect the electrical connector below and push the red tab back in and test before closing. All above. If everything is in order, reinstall all the plastic panels and you're done.
