Here I went halfway. The problem was in my car. It seems to fit. I can't get there due to the design of the steering column and dashboard. I had to pick up the car and someone else did it for me (thanks Chrysler). If I could I would cross it off my list of things to check but I can't so I'll just say it looks good.

After reading some reviews and procedures I decided to undertake the ignition switch replacement in my 2007 Jeep Commander. As with many car owners, the dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. Getting rid of the old switch and replacing it with this switch was the cure. The button no longer plays, and I can safely drive down the street without seeing the arrows drop to zero and the Griswold light show. Good product.
