Review on Garmin nüvi 2495LMT GPS Navigator: Portable 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Device with Lifetime Map & Traffic Updates by Anthony Watkins

Having had other Garmin GPS units before, I thought I made a wise choice in purchasing this unit. That was until I tried updating this unit with Garmin map update software which is an absolute joke and if you study the experiences of customers trying to update their maps you will doubt this purchase I think. The free lifetime map update is a big selling point for me as I tend to store GPS units until they either fail or are stolen. So when I spent hours updating this device that I had just received from Revain the day before, I knew I had made the wrong purchase and sent it back. I followed all of their step-by-step instructions to update the cards with the hardware I received in the kit. The update could keep stopping at 1%, or the Garmin GPS module would stop being recognized by the computer even though I didn't even touch it. Garmin wants to blame the customer's computer/software for the problems, but the Macbook has no problems with other USB devices I plug into it.
