Review on πŸ”ͺ Fellowes Powershred Performance Shredder Oil, 16 oz. with Extended Nozzle Bottle - Optimal for Efficient Shredding (3525010) by Bruce Willam

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Canola oil possibly with BHT stabilizer

I bought this to replace an empty bottle of Fellowes shredder oil (the old bottle didn't list the ingredients). As others have pointed out, it's just canola oil, which I buy at the grocery store for $5 a gallon. and I make it as bar oil for my chainsaw. Using a chainsaw trick, I add 1/4 teaspoon of non-toxic, food-grade BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) powder to a gallon of oil, which reduces oxidation and gumming. My three-ounce bottle of BHT costs less than $10 (other places Revain sells larger bottles of BHT at a higher price) and will probably handle 50 gallons of canola oil for my chainsaw (Acre Woods). or 400 bottles of grinding oil, which is enough to destroy decades of compromising documents for a large Fortune 500 company, which I'm not. However, this 16 ounce bottle of Fellowes oil will destroy years of your own non-criminal records. Why go to all the trouble. including warranty issues when using homebrew on your new Fellowes grinder? And who knows, you might also need a pocket-sized bottle of chainsaw oil; It will also work well for this, not for spraying toxic oil sludge on cucumber plants.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Long delivery time
