I have an AMD Phenom II X4 925 rated at 2.8GHz per core. I took it with a computer in early 2022.
Now, of course, against the background of modern AMD Phenom II X4 Black Deneb (older version), AMD FX, or Intel's Core i5, i7 is not a competitor and should not be compared with them. It is no longer so new on the market, and its price category is lower. Nevertheless, in its price category, for everyday office tasks and games, this processor is more than enough "for the eyes" even for 2022. Now, at the end of 2022, I think it makes no sense to change it yet.
Overclocked to 3304 MHz (bus frequency 236, without changing the voltage and memory frequency). I tried to raise the bus frequency and higher, but in this case, Windows 7 is unstable and the "blue screen of death" crashes. You can probably achieve a better result if you experiment with the voltage and lower the memory frequency. But for now, this is enough for me. At 100% load in the test, the CPU heats up to 72-73 degrees (with the cover of the system unit closed and with the table wall on the left). Without a lid and moved away from the table, it heats up no higher than 56 degrees at the same load. At a nominal frequency of 2.8 GHz - everything is the same. Cooler from CoolerMaster.
Now, nevertheless, the pebble is becoming obsolete - therefore I will give an overall rating of 4 points. Sorry, I can’t say anything specific according to some technical parameters and criteria. I'm not very good at them.
Those who want to buy a new computer based on 4 cores. processor - it would be better to take a CPU with a higher clock cycle. frequency, say from 3.5 GHz per core. For example, the older version of AMD Phenom II X4 Black Deneb or AMD FX. If you prefer Intel - take Core i5, i7. But be warned: Intel with the same clock. frequency is 2-3 times more expensive. So, think: does it make sense to overpay for Intel (which is considered more powerful) if you use only a small part of the processor's performance. After all, only a few tasks require high performance: video processing, engineer. kernel. Computing, etc. Games, audio, photo - to a lesser extent

He "thinks" for a long time only during VERY complex processes: such as video conversion, calculation of move options in complex chess programs, and also, I suppose, in some other particularly complex engineering calculations.
