The thing is treated with strong chemicals, I spent some time wiping it down several times and let it air out for a few days. The chemical smell is still quite strong. I suspect it's the chemicals they use to make it waterproof and make the fabric more durable. (PS: isn't it great that in our country there are no regulations on the use of these fabric chemicals) I like the bag. I hope it will help to keep sending it over the next few months. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it, and I wouldn't even consider giving it as a gift.
