Decent batteries - great value!,

Luckily I have a La Crosse Technology Alpha Power Battery Charger, BC1000 so I can see the value of these batteries. After a few discharge/charge cycles, I got readings between 875 and 915 mAh, well above the 800 mAh listed for these AAA batteries. (Please note that with new rechargeable batteries you may need several discharge/charge cycles before you get a stable mAh reading). So, to recap (at least for the batch I received): AAAs average 900mAh, well over 800mAh. prescribed for these batteries. This mAh value is similar to the older and cheaper Tenergy high capacity NiMH battery: 8 AA 2600 mAh + 8 AAA 1000 mAh; which are listed as 1000mAh but average around 900mAh. However, this is where the similarity ends. The new Tenergy Centura AAAs are still able to hold 80% of their full charge (900mAh) after a month (which after accounting for the 800mAh advertised would mean they hold 90% of 800mAh). This is a noticeable difference compared to the old Tenergy "Blues" which dropped to 80% charge within a week of being on the shelf. Since I usually swap out my batteries after a month or so, I can't test the Centura AAA's expiration date over a long period of time, but considering they're at an adjusted 90% of their full advertised mAh after a month or so, I'd agree with them the manufacturer's statement that they "retain 85% of the remaining capacity after 1 year of storage". Overall, I still think the Tenergy Centura AAA is a decent battery despite the different durability data, especially given the excellent price-performance ratio. Relationship.
