Review on ๐Ÿงถ Fitted Knits: 25 Stylish Patterns for Fashion-Conscious Knitters by Wendy Rodriguez

Beautiful design in easy to find gauges!

The book is great! I'm now making my first sweater out of it and I already like the result. I'm "in-between" which means my size is usually between two sizes and that sometimes causes a lot of problems. I hate making a sweater too big (I look chubby) or too small (looks like I borrowed a sweater from my skinny boyfriend). So I usually improvise with mixed results. What I like about this book is that it divides the sweater body into three parts. bust, waist and hips. So you can add or subtract as needed to get the right fit. She explains it in detail, and with a little thought, with a pencil and paper (and a calculator), you can easily figure out how to change the design. She uses a variety of popular sizes so you can swap out the yarn for something more affordable. Seriously, if you need 6 to 12 balls of yarn and it costs over $10 a ball, this is an expensive sweater! (At least for me, the hungry student and everyone.) Anyway, I plan to make some designs from this book because I like how they look and how they fit. UPDATE: I made one of the sweaters from the book, it was very easy and looks amazing! Again, the yarn counts in this book are very common, so you don't have to use expensive yarn to make a sweater. I used Woolease yarn as a substitute, which reduced the cost of the sweater to about $20. I loved how the pattern allowed me to customize the clothes to my shape and how easy it was to make. Generally if you like fashionable knitwear that flatters your figure. You love this book!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
