I'm surprised. Several reviews indicated that the ants lived only a year.
I bought this for my grandson's birthday on February 7th. Today is May 11th. It took a few weeks to get the ants but there are still about 5-6 alive and working. I give him a piece of fruit (I've used strawberry, mango, and grape slices) when the last is eaten (every 5 days or so) and sprinkle a drop of water in the top slot. I'm surprised. Several reviews said the ants lived only a few days. Feed and water well! My ant farm is dirty and very run down, but some are still there. Great learning experience for kids.
