Spiral lighters seem to be the new thing on Facebook for some reason. I'm not sure why Facebook gets all the ads for these things, but it does. The ones on facebook are cross flow and this one is single flow and also a lot cheaper. Why buy on top of each other and buy at all? This review hopes to answer that question. First of all, this thing really works like a lighter. Yes, that's right. Like, like, something like. This is kind of a big stumbling block as a lighter is why you might want to own one. These lighters have some very real advantages, but they also have some very serious disadvantages. What you get as an electric lighter is that it doesn't require fuel just to charge and in my experience the battery lasts a very long time. It's cool when you have a use that you can charge, and solar chargers let you take that camping trip and not worry about not having a lighter. That's a plus, although I can't comment on how well it works, if it gets wet I probably wouldn't submerge it in water just to be sure. I have to say that he does very easy stuff and does it well. However, for this thing to illuminate something, the object in question must be placed in a flow that lies between a small metal U. This is the stumbling block. It's a lot easier to light something up with a regular lighter than one of those things. It's hard to explain, but imagine you light a candle where the wick is fused to the wax and you can't pull it out. Or imagine lighting a larger stick than a small twig that fits in a lighter. You'll end up relying on used items that fit between your lighter wires. Trust me, it's a little annoying. Ultimately, this thing is beautiful, reusable, rechargeable, and looks downright cool. The current x doesn't seem to contribute much (which this one doesn't). So if you need an electric lighter, this is probably a great, cheaper alternative to those advertised everywhere. There are very real advantages to this lighter that does not consume fuel, but there are also disadvantages as it is a bit more difficult to use. I personally think it's useful to have something like this as a backup, but you can also carry a regular lighter.
