I used to use a 5gal bucket. It did work but this is much more appealing.I really like the fact that it has a pocket for the 7pin to keep it dry. I ended up trying a knot in the string to keep it from being difficult to access.I also really like the fact that there are chain hooks as well. This helps to hold it down and keep it from blowing away. I wish the strap that held the chains went all the way over the top as I see the weight of the chains eventually pulling the top off this but time will tell. It is holding up well so far but we will see how well it does after 6mo of summer sun.I have not really had a problem with my Jack being out in the weather but they are not IP rated and the camera failed in 2 years so I could see the Jack failing. I have seen hand crank Jack's fail in 5 yrs so mechanical could have similar problems and covering makes sense. This has a zipper for easy on/off and what appears to be a location for a lock? The whole thing appears well thought out. Durability will show the real long term value. I will update at a later date for true durability adding or removing stars accordingly.Edited 2/8/21: still holding up well.
