Cheaper alternative to expensive keys with one caveat

I have installed two sets of these keys on two different Ford Rangers (2003 and 2010). They work fine with one exception. The original keys are approximately 1.03 inches wide around the hex key hole. The width of these keys in the same place is 1.13 to 1.14 inches. So you have to grind .050 on each side for them to work (otherwise they won't fit in the key pocket). Also, one key has a slightly different key angle. If you're careful when you take the old one off, you'll notice that the torsion bar has a little more tension on the driver's side than on the passenger's side (to balance the driver's weight). With the right tools (like a good quality torsion bar compression tool, I used an OTC 7826 tool), lubrication and taking your time, this job can be completed in a matter of hours. Don't attempt this without the right tools! The torsion bars are under enormous pressure! Much luck.
