spreads heat well

I use this because my older gas range has small 3 inch diameter burners. I have an 11x24 cast iron skillet that I like to use for breakfast, so heat distribution was an issue. This disk distributes heat much more evenly over the ends and corners than would be possible without it. It weighs very little, is light and easy to handle, and is thin enough to take up little storage space. There's a smaller size (9.5 inches) that's better if you're using pans that are less than 11 inches wide. Highly recommended.
