great when you can't dig a hole

fence along many old trees, digging is not an option due to the many roots. Used about 36 of them. used a 4x4 piece and a hammer to start them. I tried it with a sledgehammer but it did more damage (hard clay, roots and rocks). I ended up using a jackhammer and a special bit to hammer this style of post and it worked fantastic. I use 8ft posts so I went with a 36" anchor, they will swing much more than a post in concrete but given that I would risk damaging a lot of trees to put up this fence , I can't complain. Using a jackhammer to install them is best as the chisel is in the center which seemed to eliminate any bending or warping of the anchor. I had broken 4 of them but the seller replaced them with no problem. Due to lumber prices not much more than the cost of 2+ feet of lumber and concrete for each post. Only time will tell how long they last.

  • I vaguely remember installing a
