I bought Cane Drop Shape Utlrasonic Cool Mist almost 5 years ago. Happy to report that he has trained and continues to train! I highly recommend it for many reasons. My husband and I suffer from sinus problems and the dry air hurts us, so this "gentleman" works most of the day and night. I wouldn't say it's been running continuously for 5 years, but damn close. Suffice it to say that he was nicknamed "Mr. Sir". The bright blue is calming and the shape is modern. I don't mind him hanging out with the company because he's trendy and COOL! There's a backlight, but for me it's not that bright, but for others it may be too bright. Just like the occasional burping, it depends on the person. The Cane Drop Cool Mist humidifier holds 1 gallon of water and the mist output is easily adjustable, which pops up occasionally. It's not loud enough to wake me up and I'm a light sleeper. The top jet is fully adjustable so you can easily point it in the right direction. This particular device does NOT require a filter and I'm pleasantly surprised at how clean it stays. I have an older model from 2010 and I used distilled water instead of tap water (our tap water is hard) Vinegar to clean but I didn't have to do it but did about once a month! on the CRANE -Website/Profile to learn how to clean it, it's very simple. Other reviews pointed out furniture damage, which turned out to be one of my concerns. I will say that if you set the fog to its lowest setting, the fog will fall instead of being pushed up and out. I would suggest if you are concerned about this to keep an eye on it before leaving it to erode surfaces. I didn't have this problem as it sits on the kitchen table and when it works in the bedroom our bedside table has a glass top that we specially fitted to keep the cats from jumping and jumping. scratch beautiful furniture.
