I used it to slice 3 loaves of bread and I'm completely satisfied. It works similar to the Ezi-Slice I originally thought about buying after using other plastic and bamboo slicers and getting frustrated. However, you have to order Ezi-Slice from the manufacturer's website, and it's more expensive to import into the US. Come back to help! The bread knife easily goes through the slots to cut bread. I recommend at least a 10 inch bread knife. Anything shorter will slip out of the slots. I leave it on the counter and my knife is in the grooves. I recommend this food slicer if you want a simple, clean, and functional kitchen utensil. Will definitely buy again.
