so make sure this pin feeds the bar. Insert the rod and then look into the slot with the two o-rings. The fill bar will only feed well if it is centered under the two o-ring wheels. It feels like the bar is out of order. Simply adjust the bar until it is centered between the two ring gears. You will find that the bar will now freely move and feed. I've tried mine in every size advertised, including the stainless steel, and it works great. The handle may not function properly if the handle is not aligned for feeding. I believe the big wheel on the bottom is just a brake so the handle can be used as a holder and not a feeder.
