We were looking for something natural for our bird to stand on and this is perfect. They fit perfectly in our medium sized parrot cage and we have two of these (in addition to the two standard wooden perches). It took our bird a few weeks to get used to these, but once he got used to them he preferred them to the traditional dowels. I love that our parrot can (and does) use them to sharpen his beak. They're made from natural wood, so if your bird likes to bite them, the bark will come off over time. But that doesn't bother us and it doesn't affect the perch.
