It doesn't drop off that easily, but higher RPMs won't be selected unless the loop is .

The clip has a spring loaded locking mechanism that seems to work 9/10 times. Spring loading could be heavier since I use the yoke on bikes that hang outdoors while riding. It doesn't drop off easily, but higher revs won't be picked up unless the loop is securely closed.
