Fur, this is normal. At less than $6 each I can't complain but I understand why they were sold at this price because I thought it was too good to be true and I was right. You're a lot thinner than I thought. The thickness of my digital calipers was 2.25mm instead of the listed 3.5mm, so they are a solid average weight and not heavy leather at all. When I contacted the seller they were great and offered a refund although it wasn't what I asked for as I had already used two of them. I have ordered two 'Dark Jade', two 'Bourbon Brown' and one 'Peat Moss' and both greens look almost the same except that the peat moss color is a slightly lighter and warmer green and the dark jade is blackish . green. They are very dim and dim except under direct lighting. The photo I've added shows a lot more contrast than normal daylight. The finish was also pretty matte, there's no real shine on it, but a little carbon cream works wonders. Although the skin feels nice and soft, I'm sure they'll turn out fine if you put in a little effort. Belt. The colors were so faded compared to the picture that I ended up removing the coating and painting them black and polishing them really well and they looked great afterwards. I don't like their matte, dull, shabby look with scuff marks and markings all the way down the stripes, but a little work gave them a wonderful shine. They were folded very tightly with a leather cord around them leaving a dent in the middle of the band, nice idea but poor packaging execution. They needed to be tied a little looser to keep the skin from wrinkling and didn't want to spring back into shape when released. I had to put something heavy on them, like some hardcover books, and let them sit on the table for a while to smooth them out before I could edit them. However, the price was right. So if you have more time than money to invest in your leathercraft, these belts make great gifts. I got a few more of these before the sale took place. I didn't have any left to paint as black is the color I use most.
