Review on ๐ŸŒ€ Vornado 630 Air Circulator Fan for Effective Whole Room Circulation - Mid-Size Model by Tiffany Odom

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fantastic fan value for money, skip the cheap imitations.

I didn't really believe the Vornado ad until I bought it. I bought the 630 to create a gentle breeze and cooling effect in my room. I live in the Southwest and it's easy to get outside in the summer up to 100+ degrees and in the winter it's nice to have some air circulation so the room doesn't get too stuffy. This fan does a fantastic job of delivering very smooth and consistent airflow without the variability of other "propeller" fans. In my experience, this fan produces one of the smoothest airflows of any competitive "propeller" fan on the market that I have used. At first I was a little apprehensive about the seemingly inflated price of $60. It's really just a fan. I'm happy to report that I feel my $60 was well spent. The fan is relatively quiet, it's definitely noticeable, but the noise is more like white noise (which actually helps me sleep). I usually stick to low to medium speed settings and mostly set it to low when I'm sleeping. Medium - Good balance between noise level and air movement. The high moves a surprising amount of air, but is admittedly quite loud. I rarely use this setting, usually only for about ten minutes to cool the room when I get home from work. The 630 motor managed to avoid the high-pitched howl of some other fans I've tried. Most of the noise comes from the air movement, with the exception of a slightly audible low-frequency engine hum, which at a cursory glance appears to be a relatively high-quality part. The processing quality is very good. Don't be fooled by the plastic construction, this is a high quality plastic that is durable and seems to last. It certainly isn't as good as a vintage steel or aluminum fan, but by today's standards it outperforms the competition. The 4-position speed selector knob (off, high, medium, low) makes a comfortable click when switching between different speeds. The propeller is in fact a high-pitch propeller (like a boat propeller), meaning the blades have more surface area for air to move and the motor doesn't have to spin at a million rpm to get good airflow . While I think Vornado's claim of up to 70 feet of air movement is a bit excessive, I would argue that 40 to 50 feet should be a reasonable expectation. However, I use it in a relatively small space, but I find it more than adequate for my needs. This Vorando fan confirms the "You get what you pay for" concept. You get a high quality well built fan and I think it's definitely worth what I paid for. I bought a cheap Honeywell Turboforce fan (sort of a cheap imitation Vornado fan design) to work at a local target and it's nowhere near as high quality and I actually regret buying it despite its low price to have. If you're looking for a quality fan that doesn't rattle, doesn't make a high-pitched screech, and moves the air without sounding like a Boeing 737 during takeoff, then this fan is for you. Skip the cheap imitations, believe me I've tried them.
