What a great idea! During our Covid quarantine we were forcibly brought home how much rubbish even a reasonably caring household produces. We've made a renewed commitment to avoiding as much paper and plastic waste as possible, and reusable "paper" towels will help a lot - not only can you use each one multiple times, but you can compost them when they're empty for longer usable. They're thick enough to handle spills and regular kitchen cleanups and rinse well. Apparently they can be thrown in the washing machine to wash, but I haven't tried it yet; I do a quick hand wash and rinse them out as I want them to last as long as possible. The only problem is drying them between uses - they have to be hung or thrown over something, which depending on how much you've cleaned can be problematic. I ordered a plastic bag dryer which should help. Once dry, they can be easily folded and stored with other cleaning products. I wish we could all use these and other reusable gadgets as a simple and inexpensive way to help the environment.
