I rated it a 5 when I first got it. Now it's 4 stars. It replaced a 2008 Vizio TV remote that died after 2 years on a TV that was rarely used, mishandled or dropped. I considered getting an exact replacement which was cheaper but settled on a hopefully more durable model. Advantages. This remote works right out of the box - just insert the 2 batteries that come with the remote. READY. AGAINST 1. There is NO sleep timer button on the front panel.2. There are no instructions on how to use it to set the TV's sleep time. Shortly after playing with this, I pressed the MENU button and a "Bars" screen appeared, allowing the person to manually toggle the screen brightness and other screen modes on or off. I was still playing with it, I clicked on from there and the SLEEP TIMER page appeared (2nd item on the list). It was hard to find but at least there was a sleep timer and we use the sleep button all the time. November 17, 2011 - I pressed the menu button on the remote and got the same menu as my Verizon remote, not this "bar screen leading to the sleep timer area". A few hours after googling how to get a sleep timer i sent an email to visio tech support asking for help which was useless and i was thinking of making a universal remote with a sleep timer timer button to buy. I can still reset this remote for another because sometimes after pressing the MENU button and going to this screen the "OK" Right button needs to be pressed to go to the next page to get the sleep timer doesn't work, but most of the time it doesn't always work.
