A bit silly for a smart robot, but still cute

We had a tough first day. Amrobt has exactly two emotions: busy with work and "ding-dong!" The first day was filled with ding-dongs as I tried to decipher what the heck ding-dongs are. Tip: Install the mobile app and connect it to the app. Then you get the actual error codes, saving you the trouble of pulling your hair out as Amrobt always buzzes on the spot before the call. (In my case, it turned out he had a lot of hair wrapped around one end of the brushroll and wanted to clean it.) Once you've done that, as long as you're not dangerous parts of your house, you'll be fine, like you have one little kid and stay close to help Amrobt when he crawls under the bedside table and then gets trapped between his four legs. Amrobt isn't particularly quick-witted and maneuvers mostly through trial and error, but he gets the job done in rooms with lots of open floor space. It pulled a whole basket of dust out of my living room the first time I used it - I have no complaints about picking it up, of course. It's an oddly cute, clumsy little robot vacuum cleaner, after all. With a price that is comparable to a good vacuum that requires more handwork, I think it's a good deal in the long run. Update: It turns out that Amrobt is having trouble connecting to Wi-Fi. First, it cannot reliably enter pairing mode. Worse, it easily disconnects from the Wi-Fi network and requires re-pairing. And to make matters worse, he sometimes does weird things online. I started noticing latency spikes in my video games until I turned off Amrobt. Now when I have to turn the robot on and off manually, it has hit its convenience hard. I docked it to a star. Update 2: I may have been wrong in blaming Amrobt for my latency issues. However, Wi-Fi pairing is still an issue and it doesn't seem to support scheduling with the included remote. Now that the robot vacuum's novelty is out of date, I rarely remember to tell it to clean, and I'm annoyed by the need to clean its roller brush three times to clean the house. I think 3 stars is still fair.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Almost everything included
