Head unit - EONON GA9465B with Android 10 phone - Xiaomi Mi Note 10Car - BMW E90 325xi 2006, with non-original head unit, of course I was able to connect to Wi-Fi and install the application through the head unit's browser, so I didn't have to worry about putting the apk on a USB flash drive and installing it that way. The app always stays on. When you connect your phone, it will automatically launch Android Auto. Once you set it up, it's perfect from there. I have to say that initially it was difficult to get it working. At first it only recognized the adapter but not my phone. I gave up and read online that some phones require USB debugging. Once you found the option and plugged it back into the dongle, it actually worked. Actually I only needed it for Google Maps as Bluetooth Spotify worked without it. I think the best thing about the app is that it can be launched automatically when your phone is detected. If I had to open the app and have to press a button to launch Android Auto every time, it wouldn't be worth the price and I could just stick with screen sharing with the default app on my main device. .
