Everything went smoothly and seems to be working fine. I went with new pedals so all the threads were perfect and new. I think this is a good idea if your pedals have been bad before. Aluminum is much softer than steel, but years of small movements under load can likely ruin the pedal's steel threads. I haven't tested this, I could be wrong. I installed with lubricated threads to the recommended torque. Don't try to over-tighten the pedals when bolting steel into aluminum. Nice and cozy but not breaking. The packaging was not very good and there was a small scratch on one of the handles. I don't care on a bike older than 30, but I took a star off to honor you guys who do.
